VALVE GATE SYSTEMS
For High Speed, High Cavitation Melt Delivery Systems, the probe of choice is the Polyshot Accutrak.
The Accutrak is designed in such a way that the valve gate pin is fully engaged in the probe 100% of
the time. It also has a very short stroke reducing the hydraulic action in the gate area.
This combination of on-centered pin action and short pin stroke minimizes the load on the gate area
of the cavity improving gate quality and reducing gate maintenance.
Polyshot Valve Gate systems can be actuated in several ways depending on the requirements of
the customer. Hydraulic/Pneumatic - All Polyshot "cylinder" operated Valve Gate systems are
designed with pistons that can be driven by pneumatics or hydraulic pressure. Pneumatic pressure
is often best for applications with moderate pin force requirements where very fast actions are required.
These are often used with servo driven injection molding machinery where hydraulic pressure is not
available. Hydraulic pressure is used with filled resins that require higher closing forces.
Both of these systems can be designed to allow direct piston pressure over each individual pin, the
Polyshot "Rack" System with a reciprocating action that moves all pins in one plate or several pistons
tied directly into a plate again moving all pins at once.
The Polyshot iDrive System is a complete stand alone package that includes a independent CNC control
and a servo drive motor that is coupled to the Polyshot "Rack" system. This system allows on the fly valve
pin positions in increments of .0001", cycle and temperature monitoring and real time graphics showing
the pin position during the cycle. The iDrive System is often used in clean room applications.
